Welcome to Oakwood School, an independent school with a Catholic ethos for boys and girls aged 3-11. Founded on a belief that parents are the first educators of their children, our goal is to help parents raise their children to become considerate young men and women who lead their lives by noble Christian principles.
Our Tutorial system, tailored to each child, ensures that alongside the pursuit of academic excellence pupils are encouraged to develop good habits such resilience, cheerfulness, generosity and responsibility. They are also encouraged to take an active part in our rich and varied co-curricular programme.
Please join us at our next Open Day, or Tour & Talk Day, where you can meet our pupils and see our wonderful school in action. I would be delighted to discuss with you how we work and what we can do for your child.

Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI)
Oakwood was awarded an “Excellent” rating in the ISI (Independent Schools Inspectorate) Report in February 2017.
Qualifications are important but education is about so much more.
Our mission is to nurture and develop the individual child so they may grow to live fulfilled and happy lives. Good character and moral integrity have a positive impact on academic performance so character education underpins our academic programme.
Character is what we make of ourselves and the unique Character Development programme at Oakwood School gives pupils the tools to fulfil their true potential and to become the best possible version of themselves.
The essence of character education at Oakwood lies in equipping pupils with the freedom to make the right choices for the right reasons. This ultimately leads to a sense of purpose and deep personal fulfilment. Lessons in character education help pupils to gain an understanding of their emotions and how they can learn to master them. Our programme fosters the development and study of virtues such as sincerity, hard work, order, cheerfulness, generosity and service to others.
