Oakwood School is ranked as “Excellent” in the ISI Report published in 2017. The school is also a Sunday Times Top 100 Preparatory Schools and is a member of the Independent Association of Prep Schools.
Oakwood School in Purley is delighted to be included again in The Sunday Times Top 100 Prep School list published in November 2017. This is the fifth year running that the school has been in the top 100 and it marks a considerable achievement by the school which is academically non selective.
Ella Leonard, Chair of Governors said “This has taken an enormous amount of hard work from all concerned and it shows that character based education, and education in the virtues enables our children to flourish in all areas of their lives including their academic achievement. To achieve these results in a non-academically selective school year on year is truly wonderful.”
Headmaster, Ciro Candia said, “I am very proud of the achievements of our all pupils and congratulate the staff for their hard work and dedication. Our ethos, based on a pursuit of academic and personal excellence alongside a strong partnership with our parents underpins all our success.”
Oakwood School was awarded “Excellent”, the highest possible ranking, in the ISI (Independent Schools Inspectorate) inspection report which was published in February 2017.
The EQI (Educational Quality Inspection) focuses on two key outcomes:
Inspectors highlighted the school’s high academic standards and wide ranging achievements in and out of the classroom, as well as the partnership with parents and character development programme.
The FCI (Focused Compliance Inspection) recognised that the school met all the current regulatory requirements.
